A drop of oil here and there is all that's needed to sort this issue out! How many times have we heard this from customers who end up with a serious problem with their garage door?
Sure, a little maintenance from time to time can certainly help lengthen the service life of your garage door, but although our garage doors are of the highest quality, like any mechanical item, they will require a repair from time to time.
The truth is, a garage door repair that is carried out professionally and quickly, need not cost an arm and a leg. The longer a fault is left, or the more people attempt to rectify an issue on their own without the expertise, correct tools or proper spare parts, the more expensive the repair can become further down the line.
This is why we advise our customers not to attempt a DIY garage door repair. Our prices are very keen and we do our level best to ensure that we will get your garage door working like new, as quickly as possible.
Another thing to consider before you attempt a DIY garage door repair is that you may be invalidating a warranty on the garage door or the operating mechanism. This could potentially cost you far more in the long run.
ACE Garage Door Repairs have a wide range of spare parts on their vans, all the correct tools and many years of expertise in the field of garage door repair, so why not give us a call today?
The earliest reference to the town of Hertford appears in the Ecclesiastical History of the English People, written by Bede in 731 AD, which refers to Herutford. Herut is the Old English spelling of hart, this refers to a fully mature stag; thus the meaning of the name is a ford where harts are found. The Domesday Book of 1086 gives a spelling of Hertforde
One possible earlier mention of Hertford was in 672 AD: the first synod of a number of the bishops in England was held either in Hertford or at Hartford in the neighbouring county of Cambridgeshire. The synod was called by Theodore of Tarsus; decisions included the calculation of the date of Easter.
The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle records that in 913 AD, Edward the Elder ordered the construction of two earthwork fortifications, known as burhs, either side of the ford over the River Lea at Hertford as part of his campaign to thwart the advance of the Danes.
By the time the Domesday Book was completed, Hertford had two churches, two markets and three mills. The Normans began work on Hertford Castle, and Hertford Priory was founded by Ralph de Limesy. King Henry II rebuilt the castle in stone, but in 1216, during the First Barons War, it was besieged and captured after only twenty-five days by Prince Louis of France. A royal and political connection with Hertford
Hertford Castle was regularly visited by nobility and English royalty and in 1358, Queen Isabella, wife of Edward II, died there. The priory was dissolved in 1536 and was subsequently demolished and in 1563, the Parliament of England met at Hertford Castle because of an outbreak of the deadly plague in London.
Hertford grew and became a very prosperous county town owing to its market; communication was improved by the construction of the Lea Navigation Canal in 1767 and then the arrival of the railway in 1843 brought further links to other parts of the country. The Port Hill drill hall was completed in 1898 and Yeomanry House was brought into military use in 1910.
